Ettu Brute

Ettu Brute
So gasps Julius Caesar

The Emperor of Rome
Conqueror of the Pompeii
As he realizes
His old friend
His trusted comrade
Joined the conspiracy
Knife in hand
Approaching to strike
With the fatal blow
The Great Caesar becomes history
What a murder
What a betrayal
What a cynical action

  1. Nice poem.
Brutus may have been Caesar's own son. His mother was Caesar's mistress. The line may been invented by Shakespeare. According to some reports Caesar’s last word was “You too, child” in Greek.
