George S. Patton was affected by combat stress. He disregarded war trauma and once slapped a shell-shocked soldier. He was utterly disrespectful towards the Russians, who were a major part of the allied campaign. Even Gen Eisenhower could not control him. At the end of the war, he made a public statement about a new world order: the Anglo-Americans controlling Europe. Stalin was suspicious. Moreover, he urged Gen Eisenhower to give him an order to attack the Russian troops based in Germany. He walked the line, and the US authorities wanted to get rid of him. Most probably, they staged a fatal accident and instigated Patton's end.
