Then Lennon in New York found a tragic grave.
The Americans marched into Vietnam's heat,
Where Agent Orange left veterans in defeat.

A man walked bravely on the moon's dusty floor,
But Apollo 13 couldn't land anymore.
Nixon invaded Cambodia's ground,
Then the Watergate scandal pulled him down.

Charles Manson went to a prison cell,
With a swastika tattoo, he fell to hell.
Polanski fled back to Poland's shores,
As Munich shook from Black September's wars.

Ali Hassan Salameh died in Beirut's blast,
While the IRA's bombs were falling fast.
Then Sinn Féin agreed to a peaceful hand,
And the U.S. withdrew from the jungle land.

South Vietnam surrendered, the conflict was done,
And Elvis died in Graceland, the setting sun.
Shakin' Stevens stepped in to mimic the King,
While the Prince of Darkness let Ozzy sing
